Side Tape for Diapers

Side Tape is a critical structural component of baby diapers and adult incontinence pants. Typically provided in left and right pairs, it is fixed to the sides of the diaper using environmentally friendly hot-melt adhesive. Its primary function is to work in conjunction with the Frontal Tape (Landing Zone) on the front of the diaper, enabling multiple fastenings, waist size adjustment, and ensuring shear resistance and comfort during wear.

1. PP Tape

It adopts a multi-layer film composite structure, utilizing the self-adhesion of the PP tape or pairing with specific magic hooks to achieve closure. It offers good stiffness, runs smoothly on high-speed machines, and is suitable for conventional diaper production lines.

Composite Structure: CPP (Cast Polypropylene Film) + Pearl Film + BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Film).
Moderate Grammage: 120 - 150 gsm or 140 gsm ± 5 gsm, providing good substrate strength.
Edge Design: Available in straight or wavy edges; the wavy edge design helps reduce friction against the baby's skin.
Color Options: Edge colors are available in white, blue, and green, with customization options.

2. Magic Hook Tape

The surface layer uses PP non-woven fabric, with the bottom layer composited with BOPP film or directly bonded with magic hooks. Utilizing the physical "Hook & Loop" fastening principle, it engages with the nonwoven loop surface of the frontal tape, achieving a secure and repeatedly tearable closure.

Standard Magic Hook Tape: Nonwoven fabric (Surface) + Magic Hook (13mm width) + BOPP film.
S-cut Hook Tape: Nonwoven fabric + Magic Hook (20mm width, special S-cut).
Parting Surface: Nonwoven.
Ultimate Softness & Skin-Friendly: The surface is spun-bonded PP non-woven fabric. Compared to traditional PP film, it significantly reduces the scratching sensation of the tape against the baby's abdomen.
S-cut Ultra-Lightweight: The S-cut structure eliminates the BOPP film, bringing the grammage down to only 95-100 gsm. This is the top choice for high-end products pursuing ultimate softness and breathability.
Machine-Friendly Processing: Provides clear processing recommendations: suggested cut dimension >25mm, stripping dimension of 8mm, and loop length of 14mm, facilitating quick machine debugging for downstream manufacturers.
High Shear Resistance: Paired with environmental hot-melt glue, it ensures no pop-opens (anti-flagging) during use.
